Tuscaloosa Through Time
To commemorate our historic 200th anniversary, the Tuscaloosa Bicentennial Commission, in cooperation with the Tuscaloosa City Schools and area private and parochial schools, will host a three-day history exposition showcasing the talents of students and engaging them in a deep study of Tuscaloosa’s rich heritage. Ideas for exhibits include historical events, food, fashion, decor, industry, inventions/technology, arts, music, education. Exhibits will be eligible for judging in eight categories.
Each participating school will be assigned an era of city history and will engage in a year-long, collaborative, comprehensively cross-curricular study of that time. Guided by their teachers, students will research, design, construct and present an exhibit on their assigned era. The project is designed to include components for archiving and sharing the extensive content students will generate through their research.
